The last days

Its weird to me that tomorrow I will be hopping on a plane and heading home to South Dakota. Spending the semester here in DC was such a great experience, I am so blessed to have done it. I have learned that I can do anything, and that times will get tough in life, but that God is always there. We need to stand up for Him and not be afraid. Three years ago I was so nervous to go to Calvin College due to the distance from all my friends, but I felt God was sending me there, I went and I have never regretted it. When the time came to decide about DC, i was nervous. I felt drawn to go, but things were holding me back. Nonetheless I followed my heart and I went. This is where God wanted me to be, I know that. I'm sad my time here is done, but there is still a fair chance that I will return someday. Eleanor Roosevelt said, " We gain strength, courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face... we must do that which we think we cannot." This statement is so true, fear wins if we just stand aside and let it. Control your own life. -That is what I learned here in DC.
Here are photos from my last couple of weeks in DC. My class took a boat ride down the Potomac and visited Mount Vernon-which is the home of our nations first president George Washington. Here is his house.
Here is Washington's grave
We went to see the Nationals play the Phillies. Here is Sam and I supporting our baseball teams at the Nationals' game.
My lovely friend Breanna came and visited. Here are her model shots.

We went and saw all the DC hotspots.
